The preliminary investigation
Your first step to better vision
Before we begin, we carry out a thorough preliminary examination to ensure that the laser treatment is suitable for you.
- We will first discuss your medical history and anamnesis to assess any previous illnesses and risks.
- Various vision tests help us to accurately determine your current visual acuity and visual impairments.
- We measure the shape and thickness of your cornea using state-of-the-art equipment.
- At the end of the preliminary examination, we will discuss the basic procedures that apply to you and, if desired, plan the main examination.
Ideally, you should stop wearing contact lenses two weeks before your visit. We can then determine your values more precisely and, if desired, carry out the main examination straight away. This saves you valuable time!
The main inspection
State-of-the-art diagnostics for greater safety and precision.
After the preliminary examination, the main examination takes place, which serves as the final preparation for the laser treatment. In this step, your eye is measured again very precisely to ensure that all parameters are precise and up to date.
We use some of the most modern equipment in ophthalmology - this enables maximum safety and precision:
Famous 500
This device provides high-resolution images of your retina, which helps us see the smallest details and make a precise diagnosis. It allows us to examine even the periphery of your retina without having to dilate you.
Maestro2
With the Maestro 2 we can create comprehensive 3D images of your retina. We can display the individual layers of the retina. This allows us to precisely analyze and plan the treatment.
Pentacam AXL-Wave
This device combines the measurement of the cornea and the anterior part of the eye with the measurement of the eye length. This gives us a comprehensive picture of your eye anatomy with micrometer precision!
Atlas500
The Atlas 500 provides detailed maps of the corneal surface, which are essential for precise planning of laser treatment.
Keratograph 5
The tear film analysis provides information about the quality and quantity of your tear film. This is especially important for patients with dry eyes to ensure that the eyes are optimally prepared for laser treatment
The day of laser treatment
Your path to better vision is imminent
Shortly before lasering
On the day of the treatment, we will make all the necessary preparations to ensure that everything goes perfectly. Come to your appointment in relaxed clothes and on time. We will discuss the procedure again and answer any final questions. You will receive numbing eye drops to make the treatment pain-free.
Lasering
Be happy - you will be treated with the latest lasers from the world market leader Zeiss. The laser reshapes your cornea based on the previous measurements. This only takes a few seconds per eye. Immediately after the treatment, you will rest for a short time. In most cases, you can leave the practice shortly afterwards.
Shortly after lasering
We will give you eye drops and a clear eye patch. You will be able to see, but everything will be a little blurry. You will also be a little sensitive to glare and feel like there is a foreign body in your eyes. This is all completely normal. Just get some rest on the first day. The next day, these discomforts will be over.

The healing process is short and painless
1 day
The day after the treatment, you will come for your first follow-up appointment. We will check how your eye is healing. Everything is still a bit blurry, but you will already notice that you can see much better without glasses.
1 week
The next check-up will take place one week after the laser treatment. We will assess the progress of the healing and your vision to make sure that everything is going according to plan.
3 Fun
We will see you again three months after the treatment. During this check-up, we will check the stability of your vision and ensure that the planned result has been achieved.
By the way, theoretically you can usually go back to work the day after the treatment. However, we would recommend that you give yourself at least one day off.
